Instruction:

We recognize the importance of teaching each and every child as an individual to bring out their best in everything they do inside and outside their karate dojo. We know what the potential can be for a child with consistent quality martial arts instruction and we have no doubt we offer this to every child in our school.

Our Pre-School Kinder Karate Program is a unique martial arts experience offered to children as young as 2½ years to 4 or 5 years of age. This program is specifically designed for the pre-schooler mind and abilities. This program is created, designed and taught by our resident female instructor who holds, in addition to a BA in Psychology and BEd, over 25 years teaching children of all ages, including 8 years as an elementary school teacher with the Peel Board.

Starting a child in the martial arts, even as young as 2½ years, definitely gives him/her the advantage on many levels. For the pre-schooler, it offers a first-time experience in a structured setting (without a parent present), learning how to follow instructions, interact with peers, develop a sense of self-control and personal discipline. The confidence gained so early in their little lives definitely prepares them for their school-world ahead. For children already in school, they continue to develop their listening skills, and ability to focus and follow through on directions. For all our children, increased confidence and self-esteem is clearly a personal goal as this is always the foundation for success in life - belief in oneself! Street-proofing and self defence are also a significant part of their martial arts training providing them with the tools, skills, and awareness of potentially unsafe scenarios that could present themselves at school, on the playground, or possibly anywhere in their daily lives.

Philosophy of Instruction:

We ensure our classes have a balance of discipline and fun. A positive and encouraging learning environment make the children feel safe and relaxed, helping to maximize their learning potential. We are a school of martial arts and are not here to entertain your child but to prepare your child for the reality called ‘life’. Very different than extra-curricular sports and activities, a classical martial arts program for children is a complement to their academic schooling and offers them so much more than just a ‘fun’ time. When our parents and children understand this philosophy, their commitment to their training is steadfast and long-lasting!

Adult Classes Day And Evening

Separate adult classes offered both day and evening

Our “open” day time classes are an extra bonus for those who cannot always attend their evening classes or for anyone who wants to maximize their training time!
